Sage: Window Opens Off Screen

Sage module windows or dialogue boxes can open off screen after a windows update, driver update, hardware changes, monitor configuration changes and screen solution changes. Such as plugging your laptop into a new monitor or moving from docking station to docking station.

Frequently, users will report the issue as module not opening, module freezing or module crashing. A tell tale sign that the module is successfully opening but opening off screen is when you try to click on another Sage window but get the windows error / notification ding.

There are several options to bring the Sage window back on screen. The most reliable is below:

1) Make the off-screen window your "active window". It should be the last thing you clicked. Your active window will show a slight grey outline around it on the task bar.

2) Once the off screen window is active, hold the ALT key and press SPACEBAR to bring up this dialogue box and click Maximize.

It will snap the active window to the current monitor.

Here are a few other options according to the Sage KB:

Option 1

Hover over the Desktop icon in the taskbar and wait for the Desktop image to appear above it.
Move the mouse up to the Desktop image, right-mouse click on the image and select "Maximize"

Option 2

On the top of the main application window, select Window.
Select Cascade.

NOTE: This only works if it is a task window within an application that is opening off screen. If the entire application window will not open (IE Job Cost vs Enter Direct Costs) then this option will not work.

Option 3

In the task bar at the bottom of your screen, select the application or window that is opening up off screen
Press "Alt" + "Space Bar"
Press the "M" key (not case sensitive)
Hold down a direction arrow (◄▲▼►) for about a second to move the application back on screen and press "Enter". (If after holding down the arrows, you are still unable to see your window, move your mouse to a position on your desktop and left click)

Option 4

Select your program or window in the taskbar.
Hold the "Windows Key" while pressing Left Arrow or Right Arrow (◄►) repeatedly to move the window back into view.

Hold the "Shift" key while right clicking on the application or window in the taskbar
Select "Move"
Use your mouse or arrow keys to move the window back onto your screen

Option 6

Hold the "Shift" key while right clicking on the application or window in the taskbar
Select "Maximize"

Option 7

Open Task Manager.
Click on the application, for example Sage 100 Contractor, in Apps.
Choose expand.
Click on the table in the submenu.
Choose Maximize.
