How to Access Network Drives
All of our company shared data is hosted on three file servers; one in Columbus, one in Charlotte and one in Louisville. We refer to these as network drives. You can access these network drives in the following ways:
- Inside the office
- Connected to wired LAN - wired connections give us the fastest and most reliable connection. It is the ideal way to access network resources on a daily basis such as network drives and printers.
- Connected to wireless network "ROMANOFF_CORPNET" - Corpnet gives access to the same resources as an office wired connection. It should only be used for company owned laptops, do not connect your phone or other devices to this network. Your office manager can provide you with the password but it should be given out on a need-to-know basis.
- Outside the office
Here's what the process looks like while in the office:
1. Sign in to a company owned domain joined PC ( How to Sign In to a Domain Joined PC ) while connected to office LAN or ROMANOFF_CORPNET.
2. When you login to with your AD credentials while connected to the appropriate network, a login script will run to automatically map the drives based on your access group. The script is a black box with yellow text showing the progress of the mapping. Note: this script will not run if you are connected to the wrong network at time of login. If you are connected to ROMANOFF_GUEST, the script will not run and therefore you will not see mapped drives.

3. After the login script finishes, it will go away. Navigate to your file explorer > expand the arrow next to "This PC" > you will see your drives listed there. Note: network drives are NOT mapped under "network locations". If you navigate to "network locations", you will receive a message that says network discovery is turned off. You do not need network discovery turned on to access drives.
